The United States Geological Survey reports that an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 3.4 occurred near the East Bay on Tuesday morning. The earthquake struck at 7:44 in the morning and was centred about 1.4 miles northwest of Alamo and about 3 miles southeast of Walnut Creek, according to the USGS.
